Sport personalities and sport organisations whose lives have been impacted negatively by the COVID-19 pandemic are advised to apply for the COVID-19 Relief Funding after the third phase of applications was launched by Minister of Sport Nathi Mthethwa.

This gives an opportunity to all athletes including boxers, trainers, managers, seconds and ring officials to apply for funding. Applications are open until Monday, 22 February.

All South African sport personalities – 18 years and older – and sport organisations are eligible to apply.

Applicants are advised to send only one application accompanied by a certified copy of a South African identity document or smart card. Certified copies should not be older than three months. Applicants must also provide bank account details and proof of tax registration.

Applicants can use the toll free number – 0800 724 278 during office hours (Monday to Friday 08h30-16h00), send email to covid19fund-enquiries@dsac.gov.za and send a WhatsApp message to 0663807492.

    I am a licensed manager of Andrea Paatjies who is trained by her Mother & Tamiya Hendricks…!! I feel that we at boxing sport are neglected in this pandemic…!!!
