AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile won the January/February Coach and Player of the Month awards respectively. 
McCarthy, who led Usuthu to 15 points in eight matches between 12 January and 24 February, beat Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Mandela Ncikazi and Sundowns’ Manqoba Mngqithi to the award. 
Usuthu beat Bloemfontein Celtic, Baroka FC, Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs while drawing with SuperSport United, Swallows FC and Maritzburg United. They scored 11 goals and kept three clean sheets in the eight matches.
Shalulile won his first ever monthly award since arriving in South Africa from his home country Namibia in 2015. The Namibian scored three goals in six games with two assists and two secondary assists. He beat SuperSport striker Bradley Grobler and Usuthu’s Augustine Mulenga. 
Meanwhile, Usuthu defender Tapelo Xoki won the Goal of the Month award. Xoki’s goal against Celtic was voted the best by the public and football supporters.
