TS Galaxy goalkeeper Marlon Heugh has called for focus as the ever-improving Rockets are pushing for more points in their impressive run of late.

Heugh is quite happy that the Rockets are doing well under coach Owen da Gama and that he continues to play a big role in the resurgence of the team as he has kept some clean sheet.

“I think the consistency we have in the team is based on having a good defence. For me it’s all about the players who know what to do. Everyone is focused on what he has to do, keep level heads,” Heugh said.

“For me the clean sheets are just a bonus. The main objective is to get three points. Pressure is off us now since we are seventh. We need to be consistent and keep level heads.”

The Rockets are at home to struggling Maritzburg United in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday (17h000. Da Gama’s boys walloped the Team of Choice 3-0 away in the first round.

“Yes, we have had a very good run, but we shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves. We should keep consistency. The run we have had is proof that we have a lot of potential, lot of leaders in our team,” Heugh said.

The Cape Town-born former Highlands Park goalkeeper is satisfied with how the Rockets are doing and he hopes they maintain that form.

“I think from now is just to improve step by step, one game at a time. At the moment we are playing really good football. To keep this run intact we just have to be focused and push each other,” he said.
