Chippa United and Swallows FC played to yet another draw as their DStv Premiership match ended 1-1 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.

It looked like the Dube Birds, who were held to 1-1 draw by the Chilli Boys in a first round match played at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto earlier this season, were racing to a win when they led 2-0 inside 10 minutes. This was after Kgaogelo Sekgota and Ruzaigh Gamaldien had netted in the ninth and 10th minute respectively.

But the Chilli Boys fought on and their fighting spirit was rewarded in the 50th minute through Anthony Laffor’s goal. Augustine Kwem brought parried to the score when he found the back of the net in the 61st minute.

Meanwhile, Cape Town City held Lamontville Golden Arrows to a 1-1 draw at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont, Durban. The Citizens scored first through Abdul Ajagun in the fourth minute and Velemseni Ndwandwe equalised for Abafana Bes’thende in the 13th minute.
