Anthony Laffor understands the enormity of the job at hand as his team Chippa United are fighting to move up the DStv Premiership standings.
And the Chilli Boys striker knows fully well that playing against Swallows FC is not going to be easy even though the Dan Malesela-coached team will be home at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday (15h30).
“We’ve got a big one on Saturday. We should play more in their half. We are very positive. We know that they are desperate now and in need of a win. They are going to come to us very hard. I think if we listen to the coach, we can be victorious on Saturday,” the former Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Jomo Cosmos forward said.
The Chilli Boys go to Saturday’s match with their backs against the wall after losing their last two matches at home. Laffor, however, is grateful for the opportunity he gets to play again.
“Since I came here I have been playing regular football. I just wanna say thanks to the coach and technical staff for believing in me including my teammates. We have been working so hard. Anything is possible in football,” Laffor said.
The Liberian is expected to play a massive role in the Chilli Boys’ efforts to make sure that they don’t go to the last matches of the season desperately needing points. The Chilli Boys and Swallows played to a 1-1 draw in a first round match played at the Dobsonville Stadium earlier this season.
