Coach Brandon Truter is expecting a tough and tricky game when the Dube Birds clash against Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership match at at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday (17h00).
Swallows held the Buccaneers, who are fourth on the Premiership table, to a 1-1 draw in a first round fixture played at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
“Tough, tricky game. It’s Pirates, it’s a massive team. A team that can beat any team in South Africa. But the occasion of the Soweto derby will come into play. I’m hoping that motivates the players,” Truter said.
“We don’t want to make too much changes with our strongest eleven. At the same time, you want to put the best available eleven on the park. We have everybody available. They are coming to Dobsonville. We still have our unbeaten record at Dobsonville. We are hoping to maintain that.”
The Birds, who have played the most draws this season, have collected 37 points from 22 matches. Fifth-placed Swallows have won eight matches, drawn 13 and lost once.
“We want to make changes, but we have to be mindful that a place in Africa is up for grabs,” Mitchell’s Plain-born Truter said.
