Six-time world champion Hekkie ‘Hexecutioner’ Budler shook off ring rust and defeated Jonathan Almacen from the Philippines to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver International junior-flyweight title at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Saturday evening. 
All the three judges nodded in agreement that Budler had done enough to beat the Filipino at the Uppercut Promotions tournament. The score cards read 118-111, 118-111 and 117-111.
Before meeting Almacen, Budler had been inactive for more than two years as he last fought when he lost to Hiroto Kyoguchi in December 2018.
