Struggling Kaizer Chiefs have fired their coach Gavin Hunt just two matches before the end of the season.
Hunt’s sacking follows after poor performances in the DStv Premiership as Amakhosi are 11th on the log with 30 points from 28 matches. Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to relegation-haunted Black Leopards was the last straw, which broke the camel’s back.
The former Bidvest Wits coach joined Chiefs at the beginning of the season and he took the sleeping Soweto giants to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Chiefs have appointed Dillon Sheppard and Arthur Zwane as caretaker coaches until the end of the season. Both Sheppard and Zwane were Hunt’s assistant.
