Hard-working AmaZulu midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula is grateful to have received the nod and got nominated for one of the DStv Premiership awards.
Makhaula competes with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Rivaldo Coetzee and Themba Zwane for the Midfielder of the Season award.
The bearded Makhaula from Mohlakeng in Randfontein has been one of the most consistent performers in coach Benni McCarthy’s team this season.
“First of all, I would like to thank God, my family, my fiancée for supporting me. I had a really rough season last year. I was getting injured a lot,” the 31-year-old former Free State Stars midfielder said.
“I was blessed to get a contract at AmaZulu. The new technical team came and everything changed. I enjoy playing under them, under coach Benni and his technical technical team. And they also showed confidence in me.”
The Premier Soccer League’s end of season awards ceremony is going to be held on Sunday, 6 June starting at 20h00.
