Bafana Bafana midfielder Masilakhe Phohlongo and the national team’s physiotherapist Nhlanhla Ndlovu have tested positive for COVID-19.
This was revealed by Bafana physician Doctor Tshepo Molobi in Gqeberha on Thursday afternoon.
“The latest that we can report on from our medical desk is that following the round of testing two of our members have tested positive. That is our physiotherapist Nhlanhla Ndlovu and one of our players Masilakhe Phohlongo. It becomes extremely difficult to pinpoint where exactly the infection was,” Molobi said.
Phohlongo, who plays for TS Galaxy, and Ndlovu went straight to isolation after receiving the news.
The latest developments follow after Bafana assistant Helman Mkhalele and and Lucky Shiburi came out of isolation on Thursday. The former Orlando Pirates teammates spent 10 days in isolation following last week’s round of testing.
