Former boxing trainer Boyboy Mpulampula has passed the buck regarding the sad condition of the famous Mdantsane Indoor Sports Centre.
Mpulampula, who admitted that he’s the manager at the Mdantsane facility, referred all queries to Mxolisi ‘Streetfighter’Tyafu, the venue’s caretaker.
“Mxolisi Tyafu is the one in charge there,” Mpulampula, who led Nkosinathi ‘Mabhere’ Joyi and Noni Tenge to world title glory, said.
Asked about his role at the venue, Mpulampula admitted that he’s the manager.
“Yes, I’m also involved there. It’s true that Indoor has been vandalised. Actually, it continues to be vandalised,” he said.
The Mdantsane venue is in a very bad shape in so much that ablution facilities are not working, especially men’s toilets and electricity was disconnected a very long time ago.
During its glory days, Mdantsane Indoor Sports Centre hosted wedding ceremonies, funerals and boxing tournaments.
