Olympic gold medallist Tatjana Schoenmaker is going to smile all the way to the bank after Minister of Sport Nathi Mthethwa rewarded her handsomely for her brilliance at the Tokyo Olympics in Japan.  
Schoenmaker won gold in the 200-metre and silver in the 100-metre breaststroke. She broke the world record by winning the 200m breaststroke in 2:18,95. 
Mthethwa gave Schoenmaker R450 000 for winning gold, R220 000 for silver and R180 000 for smashing a world record. 
Meanwhile, Bianca Buitendag received R220 000 for bagging silver in surfing.
