Eastern Cape female boxer and current South African bantamweight champion Sharadene Fortuin will return to the ring later next month.

Fortuin is scheduled to fight against Ellen Simwaka from Malawi in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) Africa female bantamweight title contest in Johannesburg on Thursday, 26 May.

This is going to be a rematch of the December 2017 clash, which was won on points by Fortuin at the Mdantsane Indoor Sport Centre.

Fortuin will go to the fight on the back of two victories against Melissa Miller in August and December last year while Simwaka stopped Gabisile Tshabalala three months ago. Actually, Simwaka won her last two fights against Tshabalala and Miller by stoppages.

Meanwhile, Seymour-born Fortuin is now trained by physical trainer Allan Dillon and Emil Brice in Cape Town after bolting out of Harry Ramogoadi-Manaka’s VIP Boxing Academy in Benoni, Ekurhuleni.
