Title challenger John ‘Section 29’ Bopape is confident that he is going to defeat Nkululeko ‘Bulldog’ Mhlongo again just like he did in February last year.

The 30-year-old Bopape from Alexandra in Johannesburg shocked Mhlongo last year when he defeated him via a split decision in a non-title bout in Durban.

Now Bopape gets another chance to achieve the same feat when he meets the reigning South African middleweight champion in a title fight in a Dream Team Promotions tournament at the Mangaung Indoor Sport Centre, Bloemfontein, on Friday.

“He knows that I’m not afraid of him and I have never feared him. I’m ready for this fight and I’m going to beat him again. Actually, I’m going to stop him this time around,” Bopape boldly stated.

Meanwhile, Matshidiso Mokebisi from Kroonstad in the Free State will try to redeem herself when she faces Zimbabwean Chiedza Homakoma in the main supporting bout.

Mokebisi lost to Nozipho Bell when they fought for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental female junior-lightweight title at the Nangoza Jebe Hall, New Brighton, Gqeberha in December last year. On the other hand, Homakoma comes from a seventh round stoppage loss to Bukiwe Nonina last December.
