Nothing seems to be coming right for Kaizer Chiefs as they lost their fourth successive match when they were beaten 2-1 by Cape Town City in a DStv Premiership match at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday afternoon.

The post-Stuart Baxter era has failed to bring results and joy to Amakhosi followers as they lost for the third time since the former Bafana Bafana coach was fired last week.

Chiefs’ problems started when a back pass blunder by Daniel Cardoso to their goalkeeper Brandon Petersen gifted Craig Martin with a goal in the 14th minute.

Citizens left-back Terrence Mashego doubled the lead in the 61st minute after he beat Petersen from a tight angle.

Amakhosi pushed forward as they searched for a goal and their efforts were rewarded when Dumisani Zuma, who had replaced Keagan Dolly in the 78th minute, tapped in from a rebound seven minutes from full-time. This was after Citizens goalkeeper Hugo Marques had failed to hold on to Khama Billiat’s attempt.
