The Brazilian women’s national team defeated Banyana Banyana 3-0 in an international friendly match at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Friday evening.

After trying a number of times, the Brazilians took the lead through Geyse Ferreira’s volley three minutes before half-time.

A lapse in Banyana’s defence resulted in Adriana da Silva making it 2-0 just as the match referee was preparing to end the first 45 minutes.

Banyana started brightly at the beginning of the second half, but it was the Copa America champions who scored through Tamires de Britto in the 64th minute.
