Unbeaten Filipino boxers Mark Mendoza Vicelles and Regie Suganob have reached an agreement on their International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight elimination bout.

Vicelles and Suganob are going to meet in an eliminator on 26 February next year with the winner guaranteed a crack at unbeaten South African boxer Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga’s IBF junior-flyweight title.

This was confirmed by Vicelles’ trainer Julius Erving Junco from Omega Boxing Gym in the Philippines. Junco also confirmed that no venue for the fight has been decided yet.

Vicelles, a 26-year-old southpaw, has won 17 fights with 10 of those ending in knockouts against one draw and is rated fourth by the IBF. On the other hand, the 25-year-old Suganob is two places below Vicelles and is yet to lose or draw in 12 fights with four knockouts.

Initially, Vicelles was supposed to face Hector Flores from Mexico in an elimination bout, but the Mexican decided against the fight. Flores lost to Nontshinga two months ago.

Fifth-rated Christian Araneta, who lost to Nontshinga in an elimination bout in April last year, was next in line. However, his camp decided against taking the fight because he’s Vicelles’ stablemate.
