The Proteas fought hard on day five of the third Test against Australia and forced a draw at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer tried to steady the Proteas’ ship before the South Africans were bowled out for 255 in 108 overs in the first innings. Maharaj knocked 53 runs from 81 deliveries and Harmer hit 47 after facing 165 balls. 

The Proteas scored 106 for two in the second innings with Sarel Erwee top scoring on 42 after facing 125 deliveries and Temba Bavuma knocking 17 from 42 balls. The Proteas were replying to Australia’s  declared 475 for four. Australia won the series 2-0.
