Having been away from the fistic sport the whole of last year, Luyanda ‘Prettyboy’ Ntwanambe has now returned to training under Mdantsane-based boxing trainer Amanda Magatya’s watchful eye.

The return to training of the Duncan Village-born former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa flyweight champion was confirmed by Magatya on Monday.

“Yes, he’s back training very hard. He’s been training with us since we came back on the third of this month. Our plan is to remain in the flyweight division,” Magatya said.

Ntwanambe has not fought since he lost when he squared up against veteran boxer Jackson Chauke in WBO Global and South African flyweight titles at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Gqeberha in April 2021.

He pulled out of his IBF International flyweight bout against Sihle Jelwana in December 2021 on the eve of their clash citing a runny tummy. As a result of his no-show at the weigh-in, Jelwana from Komani got paid without raising a sweat.
