Bafana Bafana threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Liberia in a very important Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Friday evening.

Lyle Foster opened the scoring for Bafana from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. Bafana were awarded a penalty after Liberia goalkeeper Tommy Songo’s had fouled Percy Tau inside the box.

It looked like Bafana would cruise to victory when the Burnley striker from Noordgesig completed his brace when he headed past Songo’s following a corner kick by Teboho Mokoena in the 22nd minute.

Things changed in the second half as the Liberians took the match to Bafana and their efforts were rewarded with two goals. Tonia Tisdell halved the deficit in the 68th minute and Mohammed Sangare equalised in the 90th minute.
