After losing their opening match to Stellenbosch FC last Saturday, Orlando Pirates bounced back in style as they defeated Royal AM 4-2 in a DStv Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday evening.
It took the Buccaneers only 15 minutes to make their intentions of winning the match clear as Zakhele Lepasa scored from the penalty spot. Monnapule Saleng increased the Buccaneers’ lead when he scored off Ndlondlo’s pass in the 29th minute.
The Soweto giants continued to run rings around Thwihli Thwahla and their efforts were rewarded in the 35th minute when Lepasa completed his brace making it 3-0.
Thwihli Thwahla pulled one back through Sphiwe Cele to make it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time. Mxolisi Macuphu made it 3-2 in the 88th minute.
Bandile Shandu put the matter beyond Thwihli Thwahla’s reach when he netted for Bucs in referee’s added time.
