England’s Lionesses are going to play against Spain in the final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Sunday.

This followed after England defeated Australia’s Matildas 3-1 in a semi-final encounter at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Wednesday.

After making a number of attempts to get a goal, the Lionesses finally scored through Ella Toone’s strike in the 36th minute.

The Matildas equalised in the 63rd minute after their star player Samantha Kerr sent in a scorcher past England goalkeeper Mary Earps.

A blunder committed by Matildas defender Ellie Carpenter allowed Lauren Hemp to restore England’s lead in the 71st minute. And Alessia Russo put matters beyond the Matildas when she netted the Lionesses’ third goal four minutes before full-time.
