The Proteas capped an epic comeback from 2-0 down to win the five-match one day international (ODI) series against Australia 3-2.

Captain Temba Bavuma’s side beat the Australians by 122 runs in the fifth and final ODI at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday. 

Aiden Markram top scored for the Proteas when he hit 93 runs from 87 deliveries with David Miller knocking 63 off 65 balls. 

The Proteas posted 315 runs in their alloted 50 overs and the Australians were bowled out for 193 in 34.1 overs. 

Marco Jansen took five wickets and scored 47 runs off 23 deliveries while Keshav Maharaj claimed four.
