The late South African bantamweight champion Thivhulawi Ronald ‘King’ Malindi will be remembered at a memorial service scheduled for Thursday.

Malindi passed away on Saturday last week after spending more than four weeks at the Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg following a shooting incident in Westbury last month. He was 29.

The memorial service is going to be held at the Booysens Boxing Club, Johannesburg, starting at 16h00.

Malindi had defended his SA title four times by the time of his death. He was only one win away from getting outright ownership of the SA belt.

  1. He was a great talent, this is very sad news for his family as well as local boxing. May his soul rest in peace
