It’s only the first day of 2024 and Andile ‘Silver Fox’ Mshumpela from Mshu One Boxing Management has made his intentions clear with the capturing of two highly-rated boxers in Okuhle Mthi and Mthokozisi Ngxaka.

The unbeaten Mthi is rated number one in the South African female flyweight division and is scheduled to defend her Eastern Cape title against Thapelo Bokwe in March.

Mthatha-born Mthi, who has two wins and a draw, is now going to be trained by former South African junior-featherweight and featherweight champion Macbute Sinyabi and Luvuyo Tyamzashe in Mdantsane.

“There has been wide speculations about Okuhle Mthi that she is in the Eastern Cape after taking a decision to leave her former stable in the Western Cape for reasons communicated to her former manager. I would like to officially confirm that Okuhle Mthi who is rated number one in the flyweight division in South Africa has now joined Mshu One Boxing Management and she will be training at the Tyamzashe Boxing Club in Mdantsane,” Mshumpela said in a statement.

Ngxaka, meanwhile, is rated fifth in the minimumweight division and will be looking to moving up in the ratings so that he can get a shot at champion Siyakholwa Kuse’s title.

“Mthokozisi Ngxaka who is rated number five in the minimumweight division is also back at training at Tyamzashe Boxing Club in Mdantsane,” Mshumpela also announced.

With a record of six wins, two defeats and draw, Ngxaka lost two of his last three fights. He was beaten by tough Zimbabwean boxer Beaven Sibanda and Jake Amparo from the Philippines.

Ngxaka stopped Nangamso Saba in the second round at Tsolo Junction, Qumbu, last month.
