Not only will the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Youth junior-lightweight belt be at stake when Lonwabo Sizani faces Errikie Errikie from Namibia, a spot in the organisation’s top 40 will also be worth fighting for.
This was revealed by WBC representative Dr Peter Ngatane ahead of Saturday afternoon’s collision between Sizani and Errikie scheduled for the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City. The two boxers will be fighting at a tournament promoted by Mzi Booi’s Kay B Promotions.
“I want to thank Mr Booi for making this fight possible. The winner is guaranteed a spot in the top 40,” grey-haired Ngatane said.
The 22-year-old Sizani is unbeaten, having won all his five fights with knockouts. On the other hand, 21-year-old Errikie from Walvis Bay has four wins with two of those victories coming from stoppages while losing once.
Meanwhile, veteran fight official Siphiwo Mbini is going to be the third man inside the ring when the gong goes off with Ben Ncapai, Vuyokazi Ncata and Thandi Ngodwana being the judges. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
