It was a Quwan Plaatjies show as the youngster had a memorable debut, scoring a hattrick when Stellenbosch FC walloped Marumo Gallants 3-1 in a Betway Premiership encounter at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Friday evening.
Plaatjies grabbed his first goal in the 13th minute following a Tlakusani Mthethwa assist. And 15 minutes later, he completed his brace from Raoul Daniels assist.
Nine minutes into the second half, the 20-year-old Plaatjies scored his third goal of the match to mark an incredible debut.
Meanwhile, Gallants netted a consolation goal after Thapelo Dhludhlu beat Stellies goalkeeper, Sage Stephens, eight minutes before full-time.
