Having lost her last two fights, Simamkele Tutsheni will be making a ring return in an effort to redeem herself when she trades blows with Misiwe Ndlovu at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Thursday, 29 October.
The Cape Town-based firefighter will go to the Ndlovu fight following a sixth round stoppage loss to unbeaten Monica Mkandla from Zimbabwe in July. And before losing to Mkandla, Tutsheni suffered a points loss to Polish boxer, Laura Monika Grzyb, when they fought for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) female junior-featherweight title contest away in Poland six months ago.
“She’s fighting on the 29th of October against Misiwe Ndlovu from KZN in the Golden Gloves Foundation Shaya Thursday tournament. It’s a come back fight over six rounds,” Tutsheni’s trainer, Felix Venganayi, confirmed.
Ndlovu, who made her professional debut with a win over Seani Morite in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, in September last year, lost to Nolwazi Mabaso earlier this month. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
