In an effort to rebuild his confidence following a crushing loss to hard punching Namibian opponent, Errikie Errikie, more than five months ago, promising Eastern Cape boxer, Lonwabo ‘Monster’ Sizani, will make a ring return in just over a month.
This time around, Sizani has a date with Abelo Tokwe and the two boxers are set to square up against each other at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Sunday, 1 November.
Sizani suffered his first professional loss when he was stopped in the fourth round by Walvis Bay-born Errikie during a vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Silver junior-lightweight title fight at the same KuGompo City venue.
“We are busy preparing for the Tokwe fight,” Sizani’s trainer Mzi Dintsi, a former South African junior-bantamweight champion, confirmed.
Rated on seventh place in the current junior-lightweight division ratings, Sizani has five stoppages and a loss while Tokwe’s professional record stands at three wins with one stoppage and six losses. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
