Making his last appearance in an Argentina shirt, megastar, Lionel Messi, created two goals and scored once as La Albiceleste hammered Benin 3-0 in an international friendly match played at the Mâs Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires on Wednesday morning, South African time.

Following a goalless first half, the Argentines changed the gear as they took the lead through Nicolás Otamendi from a Messi assist three minutes into the second stanza. Messi, who plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Inter Miami, in the United States of America (USA), was the provider once again as Nico Paz extended Argentina’s lead in the 61st minute.

And the 39-year-old 2022 FIFA World Cup winner capped his brilliant performance when he converted a penalty in the 71st for his 126th goal in 208 appearances.
