Brandon Thysse has no one to blame after he allowed Milan Prat to recover from three knock downs to defeat him on points as he won the vacant International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-middleweight title at the Barriere Casino, Enghien-les-Bains, in France on Thursday evening.

The Frenchman started very well, taking the fight to Thysse whom he hit at will. However, the complexion of the fight changed in the sixth round as the reigning South African junior-middleweight champion dropped Prat with a short right.

Thysse decked Prat yet again in both the seventh and eighth rounds. Thereafter, Prat resorted to dirty tricks as he hit Thysse with lows blows.

The low blows worked in Prat’s favour as they slowed Thysse down. And it was at that moment that Prat came back strongly, doing very well in the last four rounds.

Prat improved his record to 31 wins with 23 stoppages and a loss while Thysse dropped to 20 victories, 14 knockouts, five losses and a draw.
