Outspoken Cape Town City chairman John Comitis is going to appear before a Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee this coming Friday.
Comitis is being hauled over the coals following his media utterances around arbitrator Nazeer Cassim’s ruling that exonerated Kaizer Chiefs after Amakhosi failed to honour matches against the Citizens and Lamontville Golden Arrows last December.
Chiefs didn’t honour the matches after more than 30 of their personnel tested positive for COVID-19. The Citizens had travelled to Johannesburg for the match against Chiefs.
“John Comitis will appear before the DC on Friday 29 April to answer charges of bringing the league into disrepute based on some media utterances attributable to him, which he subsequently confirmed as having been true and accurate,” PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu said.
The PSL has since rescheduled the two matches with Chiefs facing Arrows away in Durban on Wednesday and the Citizens at home on Saturday.
