Zolisa Batyi is returning to East London on Wednesday after being away training in Somerset East for more than a month while preparing for his South African title challenge against Asanda Gingqi.

And Batyi is confident that his hand is going to be raised after Saturday’s fight against the reigning South African featherweight champion at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC).

Batyi was sent to train under Baba ‘Babes’ Makala in Somerset East after his trainer Khangelani Jack chose to be in his stablemate Gingqi’s corner.

“We have had excellent preparations for this fight. This is going to be an easy fight for me. People are going to see what I’m going to do to Gingqi,” Batyi said.

This is going to be Gingqi’s second defence of the title since winning it in a fight against Abdul-Aziz Kunert in Johannesburg in September last year.

Mdantsane-born Gingqi stopped Sithembiso Maduna from Ladysmith in the 11th round in his first defence of the title at the EL ICC two months ago.
