South African flyweight title contender Sinethemba Kotana has moved from Mdantsane to train under Bernie Pailman in Johannesburg.

One of the reasons for Kotana’s move is that he’s going to prepare to challenge SA flyweight champion Jackson ‘M3’ Chauke.

“Kotana has finally challenged Chauke and has relocated to Bernie Pailman’s stable in Johannesburg. There are a number of reasons why we decided to move Kotana to Johannesburg. There’s mounting pressure from boxing fans who see Kotana as a champion. We want him to fully concentrate on his preparations thus the move to Johannesburg,” Kotana’s manager Mlandeli Tengimfene said.

Tengimfene has also revealed that Kotana’s move came after he sat down with Pailman and deliberated over the boxer’s career.

“I had a meeting with Bernie last week and we agreed that it will be good for Kotana to move to his stable in Johannesburg,” Tengimfene revealed.

Kotana from Mdantsane, who registered two stoppages in his last three fights, is rated number one in the flyweight division and is the mandatory challenger.

“Chauke is keen to fight against Kotana. We are taking the Chauke fight seriously. We want Kotana to train at altitude and then return home with the belt,” Tengimfene said.

Pailman, who confirmed that indeed Kotana joined his stable, said: “Yes, Kotana is here now. He has joined my stable.”
