A date for former world champion Zolani ‘Last Born’ Tete’s departure for London in England has been confirmed.
Tete together with his trainers as well as his manager Mlandeli Tengimfene are going to leave for London on Saturday, 25 June.
Mdantsane-born Tete faces Yorkshire-based Jason Cunningham for the IBF International and Commonwealth junior-featherweight titles at the Wembley Arena in London on Saturday, 2 July.
Tete goes to the July fight after a 55 seconds stoppage of Tanzanian boxer Iddi Mustafa Ally Saidi in December last year while Cunningham scored a sixth round knockout win over Frenchman Terry Le Couviour in April.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old former IBF junior-bantamweight and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) bantamweight titlist is going to have a public workout at the Mdantsane Mall on Thursday next week.
All the best to Last born hopefully he is ready and prepared for the fight. I know his talent is great but I just hope he is in the right space of mind and still has hunger to succeed and carry-on in the sport of boxing 🥊. Hola NoMzet
