Landile Ngxeke believes that their fight plan worked very well during his clash against Lindile Tshemese at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Saturday evening.
The 27-year-old Ngxeke successfully defended his South African junior-bantamweight title with a fourth round stoppage of Tshemese. Ngxeke punished the 34-year-old former champion in the first three rounds of the fight.
It was then no wonder that Tshemese’s corner threw in the towel after the bell had gone signalling the end of the third round.
“I’m very happy. Our game plan was to go kill him. We are dangerous now. We go for the kill, that’s the only thing now,” Ngxeke said.
Ngxeke from Sada was grateful to his trainer Ncedo Cecane, the former SA flyweight champion, who led him to victory.
“I’m grateful to my coach. Where I am now I feel my boxing is growing with the help of my coach,” he said.
Tshemese from Duncan Village was trying to capture the title he once held between 2016 and 2017, but Ngxeke proved too strong for him.
