Siphamandla Baleni wants to settle the matter between him and Ayanda Ndulani once and for all as they are scheduled to clash at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Friday next week.
Baleni strongly believes that he is an uncrowned International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion as he still insists that he won the fight against IBO titlist Ndulani last year despite two judges ruling otherwise.
“Ndulani deserves to be punished and I’m going to do exactly that. I want to make sure that nobody has doubts when the outcome of the fight is announced,” Baleni said.
The 31-year-old Baleni from Mthatha, who is a former South African minimumweight and junior-flyweight champion, has added that he has no plans to stop Ndulani.
“I want the fight to go the distance and make sure that people see who the better boxer is between the two of us. I still say that I won our fight last year,” Baleni remarked.
This is the third time Baleni and Ndulani face off against each other. Baleni defeated Ndulani the first time they met in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa minimumweight title fight in June 2016.
Meanwhile, Baleni is rated seventh by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) with the World Boxing Association (WBA) rating him 13th and is 14th in the WBO.
On the other hand, Ndulani is number three in World Boxing Council (WBC) ratings and rated sixth by the IBF.
