The Blitzboks claimed a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games currently underway in Birmingham, England.
The gold medal came after coach Neil Powell’s boys defeated Fiji 31-7 in the Rugby Sevens final on Sunday evening. The Blitzboks, who led 17-0 at half-time, outscored Fiji by five tries to one.
Muller du Plessis crossed the try line twice with other tries having been scored by JC Pretorius, Shaun Williams and Mfundo Ndhlovu.
