Having lost twice already this season, Chippa United coach Daine Klate is looking at turning his team’s fortunes around when they face TS Galaxy in a DStv Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Wednesday evening.
The Gqeberha-based Chilli Boys go into this match on the back of a 2-1 away loss to Maritzburg United this past weekend.
“Lapse of concentration at the end of the first half. Again towards the end of the match. Once you realise where you went wrong, you can rectify that. Wednesday is another opportunity to rectify that,” Klate said.
Despite winning once, drawing once and losing twice, the Chilli Boys have scored in each an every game something which encourages Klate.
“Another important point is that each an every game we played we have scored goals. We have to be better at keeping clean sheets. The day we kept a clean sheet is the day we won a footbalI match. Every match we play we have to keep a clean sheet. That’s what we plan to do on Wednesday,” Klate remarked.
The 37-year-old coach understands the kind of opponents they are going to face on Wednesday as the Rockets, who are yet to concede a goal, are second on the Premiership table with eight points after winning two matches and drawing the same number of games.
“Obviously, they have done well. We are looking at them and we will plan accordingly. We should respect them. Obviously, not fear them. We must make it difficult for teams when we play at home. We are studying them. They’ve got a few big names they brought in,” Klate concluded.
