Banyana Banyana started the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship with a 3-0 win over Angola at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Wednesday afternoon.
Banyana led 2-0 at half-time through goals by Refilwe Maseko and Sphumelele Shamase. Maseko opened the scoring in the 20th minute and Shamase doubled the lead 15 minutes later.
Lithemba Samsam made sure that the matter was beyond the Angolans’ reach when she netted Banyana’s third goal a minute before full-time.
