Argentina are going to face Croatia in the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar on Tuesday next week.
This followed the Argentines’ 4-3 win over Netherlands 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in two hours of football of a quarter-final match at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail, Qatar, on Friday evening.

Messi made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute. The Argentines were awarded a penalty after Denzel Dumfries had fouled Marcos Acuna inside the box. The 35-year-old Messi has equalled the 10 World Cup goals Gabriel Batistuta scored for Argentina.
Netherlands pulled one back in the 83rd minute through second half substitute Wout Weghorst, who was only on the field for five minutes after he replaced Memphis Depay. The 30-year-old Weghorst, who plays for Turkish side Besiktas, equalised in added time to send the match to extra time.
