Well-travelled former Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has joined struggling Soweto side Swallows FC on a three-year contract.
The 64-year-old Middendorp, who was born in Freren, West Germany, is expected to perform a rescue operation at the Dube Birds.
Middendorp has had three spells with the Team of Choice and two with Amakhosi. He has also coached Bloemfontein Celtic, Lamontville Golden Arrows and Chippa United.
Swallows are desperate to move up the DStv Premiership standings as they are 14th on the log after winning three matches, drawing four and losing five times. They have scored 13 goals and leaked 17.
