Mamelodi Sundowns continued with their good run as they defeated struggling Swallows FC 2-0 in a DStv Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Tuesday evening.
Following a goalless first half, the Tshwane giants broke the deadlock through Neo Maema in the 63rd minute. Maema turned Nicholus Lukhubeni before netting for the Brazilians.
An interpassing between Sundowns players, which started from the back resulted in Themba Zwabe doubling the Brazilians’ lead in the 67th minute.
The log-leading Brazilians have now collected 34 points after winning 11 matches, drawing once and losing two games. Swallows have dropped one place to 15th position.
Meanwhile, this was Swallows coach Ernst Middendorp’s second successive loss since started working at the Dube Birds.
