Chippa United have reached the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup for the third time in their history after they beat GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay FC 2-1 in a quarter-final match played at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London on Saturday afternoon.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Anthony Laffor and Maloisane Mokhele scored for the Gqeberha-based Chilli Boys while Siyabonga Vilane netted for the Natal Rich Boyz.
The Chilli Boys reached the Nedbank Cup last four for the first time during the 2016/17 season under their current coach Dan Malesela. And Clinton Larsen also led them to semis during the 2018/19 season.
