Ayanda Ndulani is going to leave East London for Durban this week to continue with his preparations for the biggest fight of his boxing career, which is against Luis Castillo from Mexico.
Ndulani squares up against Castillo in a World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight elimination bout at Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre on Saturday, 25 February.
Victory over the unbeaten Castillo will take Ndulani to a mandatory challenge fight against reigning WBC minimumweight champion Panya Pradabsri, who is also known as Petchmanee CP Freshmart from Thailand.
“They will be leaving for Durban this week. They are going to camp in Durban as they continue with their preparations for the fight,” Xaba Promotions boss Ayanda Matiti said.
The 31-year-old Ndulani from Scenery Park in East London is rated number one by the WBC and the Mexican is right behind him.
Ndulani, who is the reigning International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion, has registered 13 victories (four knockouts), two losses and a draw while 25-year-old Castillo has won 20 fights (13 stoppages) and drawn once.
