Having reached the CAF Champions League quarter-finals already before their last match, Mamelodi Sundowns finished the group stages with a win as they beat Coton Sport 2-1 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday evening.
The Brazilians’ goals came from Marie Mekong’s own goal and a strike by Abubeker Nassir while Moshood Kasali netted for the Cameroonians.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly also reached the quarter-finals of the competition as they were too good for Al Hilal trouncing them 3-0 through a brace by Hussein El Shahat and Mahmoud Kahraba’s goal.
