Banyana Banyana’s fight back was not enough as they were beaten 3-2 by Serbia in an international friendly match played in Stara Pazova on Monday.
After trailing by three goals to nil at some stage of the match, Banyana fought back and scored two goals through Hilda Magaia and Jermaine Seoposenwe. The home side had raced to a 3-0 lead through goals by Violeta Slovic, Milica Mijatovic and Jovana Damnjanovic.
This match formed part of coach Desiree Ellis’ preparations for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand in July and August.
