After beating Lebogang Mashitoa in their previous fight, Luvuyo Sizani is now working harder to make sure that there are no surprises when they meet again at the Orient Theatre in East London on Friday, 26 May.
Sizani from Ilinge in Komani and Mashitoa clash once again as each want to claim the vacant South African light-heavyweight title at a tournament, which is going to be promoted by Kaya Majeke’s KM Sports Promotions.
“We are doing great at training and I’m trying very hard to make sure that I’ll be more aggressive during the fight. I didn’t pressurise my opponents when it mattered the most in my previous fights. That is going to change. I’m going to improve this time around,” Sizani said.
The 30-year-old Sizani, who has won all his seven fights with three of those wins coming via knockouts, stopped Moshitoa the first time they met in Randfontein in March 2021.
“I respect him a lot. I beat him the last time we met and that is history now. We are going to start afresh and one thing I know is that he’s not going to win this fight,” Sizani, who defeated Rowan Campbell in his last fight in September, remarked.
Mashitoa is fresh from a loss to Cameroonian Rolly Lambert Fogoum in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental cruiserweight title contest in Bangkok, Thailand, in March.
Meanwhile, Siphesihle Sityo from Duncan Village is scheduled to defend his Eastern Cape mini-flyweight title against Mdantsane’s Qhamani Mhlana in the main supporting bout.
