Upington City have become the second Motsepe Foundation Chamionship side from the Northern Cape after Hungry Lions.
This came after the Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League champions defeated Mpheni Home Defenders from Limpopo 3-2 on penalties at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Friday afternoon. The match went into penalties after it had ended 1-1.
As a result of Friday’s victory, Upington City have reached Sunday’s final of the Motsepe League national play-offs. They will face the winner of the second semi-final between Umsinga United and Orbit TVET College, will will start at 15h00.
