Manchester City became first time winners of the UEFA Champions League trophy following a 1-0 win over Italian giants Inter Milan at the Ataturk Olimpiyat Stadium in Istanbul, Turkye, on Saturday evening.
After absorbing pressure from the Italians, the Cityzens got a breakthrough when Rodrigo fired a brilliant shot past Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana off Bernardo Silva’s cross in the 68th minute.
Inter played very well during the match, creating a number of goalscoring chances, but it was not their day as they couldn’t beat Cityzens goalkeeper Ederson.
Meanwhile, Instabul’s triumph means that Cityzens manager Pep Guardiola finished an incredible season having led his team to a treble – English Premier League title, FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
